Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 25 September 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 299,500, a decrease of 4,750 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 20 September 2014.  During this week, 1,250 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,141 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,192 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 35 from the prior week and decrease of 364 from same week in 2013).
  • 10,305 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 249 from the prior week and decrease of 2,695 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 2,643 from the same week in 2013).
