Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 2 October 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 298,500, a decrease of 1,250 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 26 September 2014.  During this week, 1,137 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,250 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,184 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 8 from the prior week and decrease of 343 from same week in 2013).
  • 10,056 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 229 from the prior week and decrease of 2,792 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 2,650 from the same week in 2013).
