Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report 7 November 2013

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 348,250 an increase of 9,250 from the previous week's unrevised average of 347,500.
The report dated 7 November 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 26 October 2013. During this week, 2,068 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,812 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

  • 2,238 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 1,007 from the prior week and increase of 215 from same week in 2012). 
  • 14,641 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 222 from the prior week and increase of 1,589 from same week in 2012). 
  • 2,623 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (increase of 61 from the prior week and decrease of 3,239 from the same week in 2012).
