Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report 21 November 2013

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 338,500, a decrease of 6,750 from the previous week's revised average of 345,250.

The report dated 21 November 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 16 November 2013. During this week, 1,978 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,408 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 2,067 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 4 from the prior week and decrease of 189 from same week in 2012).
• 13,577 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 539 from the prior week and decrease of 547 from same week in 2012).
• 2,702 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (increase of 81 from the prior week and decrease of 3,676 from the same week in 2012).
