Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report 27 November 2013

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 331,750, a decrease of 7,500 from the previous week's revised average of 339,250.

The report dated 27 November 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 23 November 2013. During this week, 2,310 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,978 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 2,191 initial UI claims filed (increase of 125 from the prior week and decrease of 248 from same week in 2012).
• 13,846 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 269 from the prior week and decrease of 799 from same week in 2012).
• 2,790 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (increase of 88 from the prior week and decrease of 3,761 from the same week in 2012).
