The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 322,250, a decrease of 10,750 from the previous week's revised average of 333,000.
The report dated 5 December 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 30 November 2013. During this week, 1,696 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,310 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
2,098 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 93 from the prior week and decrease of 285 from same week in 2012).
14,379 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 533 from the prior week and decrease of 930 from same week in 2012).
2,831 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (increase of 41 from the prior week and decrease of 3,854 from the same week in 2012).
