Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report 12 December 2013

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 328,750, an increase of 6,000 from the previous week's revised average of 322,750.

The report dated 12 December 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 7 December 2013. During this week, 3,349 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,696 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

  • 2,333 initial UI claims filed (increase of 235 from the prior week and decrease of 174 from same week in 2012).
  • 14,942 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 564 from the prior week and decrease of 1,057 from same week in 2012).
  • 2,899 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (increase of 68 from the prior week and decrease of 3,888 from the same week in 2012).
