Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 30 January 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 333,000, an increase of 750 from the previous week's revised average of 332,250.

The report dated 30 January 2014 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 25 January 2014. During this week, 1,765 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,156 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

  • 2,324 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 64 from the prior week and decrease of 494 from same week in 2013).
  • 20,719 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 738 from the prior week and decrease of 1,322 from same week in 2013).
  • 674 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (decrease of 738 from the prior week and decrease of 5,543 from the same week in 2013).
