Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 6 February 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 334,000, an increase of 250 from the previous week's revised average of 333,750.

The report dated 6 February 2014 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 1 February 2014. During this week, 1,887 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,765 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

  • 2,274 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 50 from the prior week and decrease of 517 from same week in 2013).
  • 20,909 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 658 from the prior week and decrease of 1,995 from same week in 2013).
  • 17 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (decrease of 658 from the prior week and decrease of 5,743 from the same week in 2013).
