The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 366,000 last week to 361,750 this week.
The report dated 5 April 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 31 March 2012. During this week, 2,346 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,655 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 1,825 initial UI claims filed (increase of 95 from the prior week and decrease of 205 from same week in 2011).
- 22,166 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 974 from the prior week and decrease of 6,070 from same week in 2011).
- 11,668 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 33 from the prior week and decrease of 5,724 from same week in 2011).
