The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 364,250 last week to 368,500 this week.
The report dated 12 April 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 7 April 2012. During this week, 2,022 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,346 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 1,910 initial UI claims filed (increase of 85 from the prior week and decrease of 302 from same week in 2011).
- 21,279 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 887 from the prior week and decrease of 6,038 from same week in 2011).
- 11,578 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 89 from the prior week and decrease of 5,656 from same week in 2011).
