Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 376,000  last week to 367,250 this week.

The report dated 26 July 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 14 July 2012. During this week, 1,690 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,826 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

• 1,836 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 3 from the prior week and decrease of 230 from same week in 2011).
• 15,218 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 51 from the prior week and decrease of 5,447 from same week in 2011).
• 6,897 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 215 from the prior week and decrease of 7,140 from same week in 2011).
