Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 27 February 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 338,250, unchanged from the previous week's revised average.

The report dated 27 February 2014 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 22 February 2014. During this week, 1,465 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,650 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,727 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 75 from the prior week and decrease of 286 from same week in 2013).
• 20,447 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 262 from the prior week and decrease of 3,070 from same week in 2013).
• 20 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 4,793 from the same week in 2013).
