Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 14 August 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 293,500, a decrease of 4,000 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 9 August 2014.  During this week, 1,394 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,345 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,288 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 81 from the prior week and decrease of 310 from same week in 2013).
  • 11,436 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 75 from the prior week and decrease of 2,510 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 2,860 from the same week in 2013).
